Alpine-Petal began in 2008 when our founder, returning from years studying traditional woodworking techniques across Scandinavia, recognised that British homeowners deserved outdoor spaces built with the same care and attention as their interiors.
What started as a small workshop in Richmond has grown into a dedicated team of designers, craftspeople, and project managers united by a shared appreciation for outdoor living done properly.
We have never chased volume. Instead, we focus on projects where our particular expertise makes a genuine difference — spaces that will be used, enjoyed, and admired for decades to come.
These commitments shape every project we undertake
We select materials for longevity and character, not convenience. Every timber species and composite product we recommend has been tested in British conditions and proven its worth.
Clear timelines, transparent pricing, and straightforward advice. If something is not the right choice for your property, we will tell you — even if it means a smaller project.
Beyond aesthetics, we consider how you will actually use your space. Furniture arrangements, sun patterns, wind shelter, and privacy all inform our proposals.
We begin every engagement by listening. Understanding not just what you want to build, but how you want to live. A family with young children has different needs than empty nesters seeking a peaceful retreat.
Site conditions receive equal attention. Soil composition, drainage patterns, sun exposure throughout the day, and views worth framing or screening all factor into our designs.
Only after this thorough understanding do we present proposals — typically two or three distinct concepts that address your requirements through different design lenses.
"From the initial visit through to final walkthrough, the professionalism never wavered. They suggested improvements we had not considered and delivered a terrace that genuinely exceeded our expectations."
Every great outdoor space starts with a thoughtful conversation.
